Like any ordinary Saturday morning, hubby and I drove to the NTUC Fairprice at Kovan City to do our weekly marketing. An extraordinary sight caught my eyes as we turned into the carpark near the supermarket. The ground along the road was covered with beautiful pink and white flowers that fell from the trees! I don't know what is the name of the flowering trees through. It's a beautiful sight! For a while, this looks like a street in some romantic European city, and not our Hougang Street 21!

Sand from the Desert!
Super unproductive at work this afternoon because I was having migraine. Not a terrible terrible one... I would say, just pain factor of 6 on a scale of 10. But these days when I have migraine, my nausea is very bad. I don't think I ever felt that nauseous when I was pregnant. I was keeping my fingers cross the whole afternoon that I won't throw up in the toilet again. I hate being in that mess. Took synflex, cafergot together with dhaperzine (for nausea). I had no choice but to rub medicated oil on my temple and forehead. I avoid doing that after a mega migraine one day and rigorous rubbing of Tiger Balm on my forehead caused massive clogging of my pores. [Thus, contributing to my need for the expensive new Leonard Drake facial package.] Maybe it's the chocolates... or the teh-si at lunch. Ha ha.... I tend to get headaches after I eat chocolates, or drink caffeinated stuff.... Hmm..... time to watch my diet.
But I'm quite happy today because I received a special gift from a friend! Once, I casually said to my friend LF to collect some sand for me as souvenir wherever she travels. LF travels widely for leisure, and often to interesting and exotic places. She actually collected a bottle of sand from the Jordan desert in 2006. But because she was posted overseas to work until early this year, we did not have the chance to meet up until today. I don't really know where to display the bottle of sand yet, but yeah, it's a rare possession indeed! Thanks a lot gal!

The Handphone Destroyers
The children! I wonder how many of you parents have had your handphones destroyed by your kids. My sis' handphone is plastered with scotch-tape, and this is her 3rd one to be in this plight. My dad's handphone had been smashed to pieces first by my niece, then by my own daughter. I thought my hardy Samsung Ultra could withstand the rough-handling. Afterall, it remained as one single piece after having been hurled multiple times from Chloe's strong arms. Alas, the earphone died on me and lost its audio function altogether last weekend.
I didn't want to let Chloe play with our handphones. But the little girl is very insistent and will not stop pestering you (tugging at your clothing, hugging your legs), often resorting to loud crying or large amount of [crocodile] tears, until she gets it. We tried to give her old handphones to play with, but she's smarter than that. She wants one which can respond to the buttons she presses, display pictures, or make calls out. [Please accept my apologies if you have received prank calls from Chloe before.]
Anyway, I had been wanting to get a new handphone to replace my 3 year old Samsung Ultra. The reason why I was taking so long was that I couldn't decide between the Samsung Ultra Touch and the Nokia E66. So when my handphone suffered a sudden death, I had no time to procrastinate. I ended up buying the Samsung Jet, which became quite affordable since I signed up a new line with M1 (I ported over my old number). Touch screen phones are the standard these days! Isn't it cool?!! Thanks to Chloe I have a spanking new phone now.....

Facial Issues....
I went facial with sis at Leonard Drake at Centrepoint last Friday. I love Leonard Drake's facials because the therapists are very thorough in their extraction, compared to my gentle Dr Hauschka facials. Although I've not completed my package with the latter, I went ahead to sign up a new one with Leonard Drake, for $1,688! It's quite a guilty splurge because we're trying to save up for funds to renovate the flooring of my second storey. However, I sought hubby's permission to buy a package to 'renovate' my face, which is more urgent!
Perhaps its due to the slew of new products I've been trying lately - my face has turned super sensitive. I'll spare the details, but sadly, my experiments with the novelty products have to stop for a while. The facial therapist gave me a number of their product samples to try over the weekend, and I really liked them - pretty much calmed down my flaring skin. At lunch yesterday, I rushed down to Centrepoint to buy the products, as I have product vouchers to redeem. I bought S$467 worth of products all together (excluding a face serum which I bought separtely last week for >$100), in the hope of better skin!
