And the Obsession Continues.....

My recent craze about skincare and makeup have rubbed off on best friend. We began meeting up a lot more frequently to exchange beauty tips. What a bad influence I am. In the last few weeks she had also been experimenting with new products and buying stuff for the face. We also swapped samples of our new finds, and made more purchases! It's so fun!

I think my adventure with makeup was a bit overdone when my face started to clog up. It suspect it's a new sunblock balm from Korea which I was using. I took me about 2 weeks to clear up the spots, so I think I'd better give my poor facial skin a break!

Best friend and I were desperate to look more beautiful, or at least maintain the current skin condition, so we went to check out the collagen powder thingy which you add in your drinks. I overheard 2 rosy-looking aunties discussing the Meiji amino collagen powder at Watsons one day, so I decided to check it out with best friend. While seeking some info from a sales promoter at Watsons, she recommended vitamin/mineral supplements over amino collagen for skin benefits. She said she was 50 years old, and she looks absolutely radiant - her skin was so fair and smooth!

Well, desperate people are game to try anything (i.e. super gullible), so we ended up buying close to S$200 worth of pills - Milk Thistle, Vitamin E, Grape Seed Extract - face vitamins!! We're turning into supplement junkies too! Now, in addition to my regular multi-vit pills, Feverfew herbal supplements (I take this to prevent migraine, but doesn't seem to work lei) and Evening Primrose Oil, I down close to 10 pills a day!

As if that's not enough, at best friend's recommendation, I went to buy the best white-tea leaves available. It's high in anti-oxidant, so hopefully it can retard my ageing process a little. I'm a coffee lover so not sure if I can stick to a tea routine. But for the sake of beauty, I'll make myself do so. Tea, anyone?? : )

Swimming

Because I could no longer fit into my swimming costume without splitting it at the seams, I have avoided swimming until today. After much persuasion from sis, I decided not to hold back Chloe's first experience in a pool. Over the last two weekends, we brought Chloe to my sis' pool to swim. Mummy volunteered to be the camera-woman while Daddy played the swimming coach.

When Chloe first dipped into the baby pool, she was afraid and clung on to Daddy, whimpering away. After about 10 minutes of coaxing, she got acquainted to the environment and began to relax as she floated around. After another 15 minutes, we 'transferred' her to the adult pool. We were pleased that she did not show any more fear, and began slapping the surface of the water and kicking her little legs! We didn't even have to teach her!

I think she enjoys swimming. These days when I ask her, "Chloe, swimming... how?", she would flap her arms animatedly and kick her legs. Perhaps I should either i) lose some fats and squeeze into my swim suit or ii) forget about being self-conscious and jump into the water to have some fun with her one of these days.

No fear of the deep pool. Chloe enjoying herself in the water....

Shake your Bon-Bon....

Since learning to walk, Chloe discovered a whole new world of forbidden things. We often have to follow behind her and shout the constant command of "Chloe... No! Chloe.... No!" as she drags remote controls off the console, pulls endless pieces of tissue paper out of the box, or plays with the buttons on the fan.

We're quite amazed that a one-year old knows how to operate the amplifier. She knows where the power switch is, and after a few experiments, which button could "change the music". She also knows the round dial on the right can be turned. And then she dances along.....
